Job Summary:

The Human Resource Coordinator supports and facilitates the human resource processes at all locations. Administer employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers.  Successfully resolves benefits-related problems and ensures a positive employee experience. Provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.  This role will be on-site with an ability to create a mutually agreed upon schedule and we are open to gaps in employment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.


  • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Accurately process payroll and work directly with payroll provider or employees to research and resolve issues Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
  • Maintain successful and timely completion of new hire paperwork and employee data in HRIS
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Ensure compliance with various state employment laws and labor regulations
  • Respond to requests for verifications of employment
  • Serve as a resource for employees by answering questions and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Assist in projects, as assigned by the Human Resources Director

Education and Experience:

  • At least two years’ experience in HR, Payroll, or Benefits Coordination
  • Associates degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
